my day ended sooner than i thought (i thought i ended at 6, but it’s actually 4. phew!) and found a way to transfer trains without swiping twice, so that’ll be a breather for february when i don’t have an unlimited card.
i was forced to helping clean out for an hour and a half everyday of this week beginning today, so shortly after dinner we waged war on the basement closets. before i went down there, i had doubled a recipe for crepes, and planned on attempting a mil crepe cake (i highly doubt there are actually a thousand layers of crepes within those things), so i was about halfway through when my dad hollered at me to get downstairs.
upon emptying the floors and racks, we went all went through old clothes and found some ancient photos. my mom found (to my delight) one of my costumes from twelfth night, which was a slinky chinese gown that i probably don’t fit in anymore. don’t matter… it’s the sentimentality that i care about. i also unearthed a good amount of my hoodies, which amazingly still fit, despite having bought them a decade ago. we also came across a random heavy winter coat that must have been my mom’s at some point - it puts my current coat to shame with its length and thickness. once we get it dry-cleaned, i’ll be wearing it regularly. that thing is enormous.
after we gave up for the night, i finished frying the crepes; there are twenty of them stacked on a plate at the moment, waiting for me to make a filling of some sort to layer them with. easiest would be ganache, but i don’t want chocolate. i guess i’ll just have to be patient and whip cream tomorrow or so.
time to do the dishes…
